the spiritual successor of Lucky Star. You can’t deny it, the similatiries are so obvious..Yui = TsukasaSachi and Mio = Konata and KagamiTsumugi = Miyuki. in terms of their roles. The first episode is pretty much what I expected from KyoAni, the masters of producing endearing, funny and ...

The Banzai! Effect: When Tsukasa becomes the star of her own show…
AnimeBlogger.net Antenna —
vlcsnap-159270 That face looks oddly familiar… …you get K-ON!. We have finally stepped into Spring 09 so it’s time to sample the shows it has in store for us! And what better place to start than this season’s Lucky Star look-a-like K-ON!. As mentioned by Kurogan e, the resemblance is uncanny. Tsukasa is the air-headed Hirasawa Yui Kagami is the tsukkomi Akiyama Mio Konata is the energetic Tainaka Ritsu Miyuki is the lady-like (and also partially air-headed) Kotobuki Tsumugi vlcsnap-161847“Uguu~” vlcsnap-159833 Who’s the tsukkomi and who’s the boke? vlcsnap-159997 Pretty ...
K-On - The Inevitable Comparison
Moe Check! —
Yui, flustered. Kurogane compared the main characters of K-On to those of Lucky Star , which does rather fit, but to be honest the first comparison I thought of was Hidamari Sketch : To be fair, the interactions don’t exactly break down exactly as compared: Ritsu hangs out with Mio instead of Yui, Mio is a lot more honest to herself than Sae was, and Tsugumi is a bit more out-there compared to Hiro (in fact, she probably fits the least closely). I wouldn’t say air-headed , but perhaps naive is a better word. (Or not.) “Inexperienced with the ways of the world” would ...
Rabbit Poets: Blogging about Anime: K-ON!, episode 1 – Obviously KyoAnese for insanely moe

... than say Lucky Star. I don’t know why I find slice of lifes to be so interesting. I mean for the most part, you have a similar set of characters, a similar set of situations and they’re all interchangeable to some degree. But I think there’s a simple kind of magic in creating really likeable characters, tossing them in a box, and seeing what happens. And almost all of K-ON’s main characters immediately stand out (even if they’re very similar to some other KyoAni characters as Kurogane points out): If I were to compare them to non-Lucky Star characters, I’d go: The ...
[K-ON!] Don’t Say “Lazy”~
水曜日 Wednesdays' Wanderings —
... it is KyoAni after all. Saying that I’m not the slightest into the wave will be hypocritical. A studio like that will undoubtedly generate massive level of hypes among the fans. That aside, it is a pretty enjoyable show; looks like I’ll be keeping this on my watch-list. What really impressed me, is the art style for the ED — I like the monochrome neo-retro sort of feel. And damn, the ED is addictive. Looks like Dont be “Lazy” will be on my music spamlist along with the new FMA OP. Lucky Star rip-off? Nah, ...
